Guerrilla Rockets Hit Baghdad's Sheraton Hotel
Politics | March 24, 2004, Wednesday // 00:00

A suspected guerrilla rocket attack has triggered Wednesday a huge blast in Baghdad's Sheraton hotel. No injuries have been reported in the Ishtar Sheraton hotel used mostly by foreign businessmen and journalists. According to witnesses, the Sheraton and the adjacent Palestine hotel have been shattered by a rocket hitting the sixth floor of the heavily fortified Sheraton. The attack was a new cause for anxiety among foreigners and foreign media correspondents following a car bombing a week ago that killed seven people and wounded 35 others near another hotel in eastern Baghdad.
