Bulgarian kaval player Theodosii Spassov, who has captivated Western and Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, Canada and US with his virtuosity, was happy to receive the Novinite.com Personality of The Year 2003 Award, in the Arts category.

Spassov received the statuette as well as a special certificate from Novinite.com publisher Maxim Behar, and met with Editorial Staff members at the Novinite.com office in Sofia.

In the annual Novinite.com poll, the masterly musician garnered 52% or the votes, leaving behind violin player Vasko Vassilev with 29%, and prominent painter Svetlin Russev with 19% of the votes.

The country's Foreign Minister Solomon Passy swept the Politics section award, and dedicated it to Premier Simeon Saxe-Coburg. Top figure skaters Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski emerged as winners in the Sports category, where they competed against gymnast Jordan Jovtchev and weightlifter Milen Dobrev.

Some of my friends living outside Bulgaria called me to say they also cast their votes in the inquiry, Spassov, smiling, shared with Novinite.com team.

In 1994, he took part in Grammy-winning "Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares", and was also recognized as one of the most talented East European musicians by the Newsweek magazine.
