A number of Bulgarian top sportsmen joined popular artists to record a new version of the "My Homeland Bulgaria" classic, and shoot a special video. The initiative came as a way to wish Bulgarian athletes good luck at the upcoming Olympic Games in Greece.
The track features performances by famous vocalists Silviya Katsarova, Kristina Dimitrova, Orlin Goranov, Vesselin Marinov, actress/singer Greta Gancheva. Television hosts Zhoro Pentagrama, Vassil Vassilev a.k.a Zueka, Malin Krastev and Nikolay Georgiev also let loose their singing potential.
However, what would probably be even more challenging to the public, are pieces performed by top athletes Vessela Lecheva, Tanya Bogomilova, Yanko Russev, Mariya Grozdeva, Vanya Gesheva, Zdravka Yordanova and Rumyana Neykova.
The "My Country, My Bulgaria" was originally written and performed by veteran Emil Dimitrov, and has been re-arranged and performed by a number of other artists ever since.
