ELECTION OFFICIAL DOUBTS INDZHOVA`S RIGHT TO RUN

“The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) and the Cabinet have been misled during the competition for scrutineer at the presidential elections,” Mikhail Kostantinov, CEC member from the United Democratic Forces quota, announced. Kostantinov claims that the chosen company-scrutineer “Izbori” Ltd. is not a judicial person and according to the Bulgarian Trade Law does not have the right to take part in the elections. There will certainly be a scrutineer on the election day however since in case this company is removed, the company ranked second in the competition takes its part. Konstantinov also questioned Reneta Indzhova’s right to take part in the elections. According to him it is doubtful whether she has spent 183 days in the country, which is one of the requirements of the Constitutional Court. A fine of BGN 30, 000 will be imposed on all the media violating the rules during the election day, Konstantinov added..
