Cosmopolitan, the world's most popular magazine among young women, will be launched on the Bulgarian market with the April 2004 Bulgarian-language issue, representatives of the publishers Sanoma Bliasak Bulgaria AD announced Monday at the eighth national forum of the Association of Advertising Agencies - Bulgaria.
Sanoma Bliasak Bulgaria AD is a newly established company, which was set up after Sanoma Magazines International (SMI), a part of Finnish SanomaWSOY Group, acquired 50% of Bliasak Media OOD. Sanoma Magazines International also publishes Cosmopolitan in the Netherlands, Romania, Finland and Hungary.
Speaking at the Forum of the Association of Advertising Agencies - Bulgaria, Jeanette Chang, Senior Vice President and International Publishing Director at Hearst Magazines International, assured that Cosmopolitan Bulgaria will continue the philosophy of the Cosmopolitan brand worldwide, keeping its distinct message, precise editorial focus on romance, beauty fashion, relationships, friends, in-depth articles on celebrities and an editorial voice that connects to the readers on an emotional level.
Bulgaria is the 50th country to see the international edition of Cosmopolitan launched on its market. The first issue will have a circulation of 60,000 and a cover price of BGN 3.5. Each one of the editions will follow the US format for the first six months. Bulgarian-made fashion and local beauty products are also planned to be mainstay in the publication.
