American pharmaceutical companies may stop their investments in Bulgarian pharmaceutical production, representatives of foreign importers of medicines announced at a meeting with the heads of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF). Their reaction was triggered by NHIF decision to pay only the cheapest medicines. Bulgarian-made medicines will be free, while the price divergence of imported ones will be paid by the patients. Representatives of foreign pharmaceutical companies have asked the fund to guarantee equal access to all medicines.
