OFFERS FOR VARNA SHIPYARD TO BE OPENED IN PUBLIC

The offers of the companies proposing rehabilitation plans for the Varna shipyard will be opened at the ministry of economy today, it emerged from a statement of vice premier Nikolay Vasilev in Varna. By the Saturday deadline offers were submitted by six companies. The intentions of the companies were discussed in advance by the working group, headed by Rumen Beremski, today the business plans will be considered in detail. Offers were submitted by Kiriakou Group of Greece, Hougan Marine of USA, Fison Invest of Sweden, Oldendorf of Germany and Bulgaria consortium, which includes Allianz Bulgaria, the Odessos ship-repair works, and the management team. A Norwegian company is also among the candidates. By the end of the week a foreign consultant will give its opinion on the offers but, according to Nikolay Vasilev, the chances for a good offer are not big.
