PM LEAVES FOR BRUSSELS AND STRASBOURG

Prime minister Saxe-Coburg leaves today for his first visit abroad, at the invitation of his Belgian counterpart, Ferhofstadt. The two-day business visit had to take place on September 12, but had to be postponed in relation with the terrorist acts in the USA.
Simeon Saxe-Coburg will have talks with his host, the Belgian prime minister. He will meet also the EC chair Romano Prodi, the EU enlargement commissioner Gunter Verheugen, the NATO secretary general Lord George Robertson and the envoys of the NATO member countries. On October 24 the premier will be in Strasbourg to meet with the chairwoman of the European Parliament Nicole Fontain andrepresentatives of the parliamentary groups. The PM is accompanied by Meglena Kuneva, chief negotiator for Bulgaria in the accession talks and the head of his office, Stoyan Ganev.
