The German embassy in Macedonia has issued a press release on reports in the Macedonian media that Germany had asked Bulgaria to participate in NATO`s Amber Fox mission. The press release reads as follows: It is true that there was a discussion with the Bulgarian defence minister in Berlin on the subject of Bulgarian participation in international missions. Parliamentary State Secretary [for Defence] Schulte asked the Bulgarian side whether there was a general willingness to pursue this matter further and encouraged them to do so, however, this question was related to participation in multinational missions across the world, not only in the Amber Fox mission. A possible translation error explains the misunderstanding in the Macedonian media, the announcement reads.
