BULGARIAN RUSSIAN VISA REGULATIONS TO BE EASED

Delegations of the Bulgarian and Russian foreign ministries met at the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry for a second round of talks for reciprocally easing visa regulations, the Foreign Ministry announced. The agreement creates better visa conditions for the promotion of business contacts and tourism. International carriers, state administration employees, people traveling for humanitarian purposes, participants in cultural, educational, scientific and sports events, as well as children under 16 years of age will enjoy special treatment when applying for visas. Additional steps aimed to accelerate the enforcement of the new relaxed visa requirements have also been agreed. Bulgaria and Russia introduced a visa regime on October 1, 2001.
