PRESIDENT`S WIFE TO OPEN WOMEN`S FORUM IN SOFIA

Women leaders from ten Southeast Europe countries are expected to arrive in Sofia for a two day working meeting under the `Women in the 21st Century ` Project, starting October 20. Antonina Stoyanova, the Bulgarian President`s wife, will deliver the opening speech of the two-day forum. The motto of the forum will be `Women Leaders for the 21st century: Building Successful Local, Regional and International Partnerships for Democracy.` Participants from Albania, Croatia, Greece, Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria will discuss the role of international organizations in supporting Southeast European women`s efforts to promote regional peace and stability, their participation in politics and their social status. Coordinators and organisers of the Project are the Values Foundation, the Greek Association for Atlantic and European Cooperation and the Humanitarian Association for Emancipation, Solidarity and Equality of Women in Macedonia. The European Commission under the Royaumont Process finances the Project.
