In the Friday edition Novinite.com published a newspiece on foreign investments in Bulgaria. It said USD 864M was invested in BG Jan-Sept 2003.
In the early summer, however, OTP bought DSK Banka for EUR 311M (over USD 360M). This would mean that this year Hungary is the biggest foreign investor in Bulgaria, by far. (Apart from OTP Bank, Dunapack Holding and the CBA food store chain also made serious investments in the country.)
Maybe the full amount for the DSK deal has not been transferred yet, and, this being the case, it has been left out from the freign investment calculation.
