The Bulgarian Foreign Minister Solomon Passy received a letter from the French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine. In the letter, the French official confirms his country`s full support for Bulgaria`s future membership of NATO and the European Union. `We will make efforts to ensure a positive answer to Bulgaria`s bid at the [NATO] summit meeting in Prague in November 2002,` Vedrine writes. In an accompanying message Vedrine extends `warm congratulations on Bulgaria`s election as a nonpermanent member of the United Nations Security Council.` He expresses appreciation for the two countries` `good relations` and invites Passy to pay an official visit to France.
