The former receivers of the Balkan national carrier submitted a USD 18.5 M claim against Zeevi Holding over the holding`s sale of Balkan Airlines` shares in the airline industry information technology co-operative SITA. That was announced by the Bulgarian Transport Minister Plamen Petrov. The claim was filed in the Sofia Court in the beginning of October before the former Balkan receivers Ralitsa Topchieva and Vladimir Petkov handed their resignations. The sale of the SITA shares is connected with the loans extended to Balkan Airlines by Zeevi holding`s subsidiaries Balkan Airlines Holding and ZBI Inc. The loan agreements provided that Balkan Airlines will buy back its shares in SITA as soon as it settles its debts to the two companies.
