MILITARY AIRPORT READY TO ALLOW NATO AIRCRAFT

`Bulgaria is willing to allow NATO to use its Graf Ignatiev military airport as a base to launch air strikes on Afghanistan,` General Stefan Popov, commander of the Air Forces said. `No demands have been made from NATO, so far,` the senior official said, quoted by the Monitor Daily. `The Bulgarian Air Forces will renovate its two military airports, Bezmer and Krumovo, in line with NATO standards,` Popov said, adding that the number of Bulgaria`s fighter jets is expected to reach 72. They are currently nearly 50 operating fighter jets in Bulgaria.
