After the meeting with the potential candidates for the privatization of Bulgartabac holding, the government still does not have clear strategy on the privatization of the company. The only thing that is known so far is that the holding will be privatized as a whole entity. `The aim of the talks is to harmonize the interests of Bulgaria, Bulgartabac and the potential investor,` Lyubka Kachakova, Chairman of the holding`s Board of Directors and Deputy Economy Minister said. The Executive Director of the Privatization Agency announced that the contract with the former intermediary Kreditanstalt is going to be soon renewed. Twelve specially invited investors attended a meeting with representatives of the Privatization Agency, the Economy Ministry and Kreditanstalt, on the privatization of Bulgartabac Holding. The meeting took place on October 12. Separate conversations were held with each of the investors to get acquainted with their position on the holding`s divestiture as well as their requirements about minimum information necessary for making an investment decision. Serious multinational companies, operating in the sector, bank consortiums and other investors, almost all of which deal with production and sale of cigarettes are among the potential investors. Financial revisions will be made in the twenty two companies within the hoding.
