The Regional Governor of Pleven Nikolay Marinov required the chief prosecution to investigate two deals, signed by the former agriculture minister Ventsislav Varbanov. Marinov said that there were obvious indications of corruption in the deals. The Berlin-based Vadris Forest Capital AD leased 6910 decares of land two days before the new government of Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg assumed office. The lease was signed for a 35 years period against BGN 37,314 annual fee. Another deal concerns state property rights over the Pleven region forestry, transferred to Dunav AD. After a few months the state-owned share was reduced to 27% against 75% private ownership.
