Tourist agencies and hotels that participate in the first Tourism 2001 Fair in Sofia complained of a reservations decrease after the start of the war in Afghanistan. `Some of the tourists cancelled their holidays because of flight security reasons, `the Bulgarian Association of Hotel and Restaurant Operators reported. There are possibilities for hotel bankruptcies. The number of flight passengers to Bulgaria fell with 30%. 50% of the reservations in the Sofia five-star hotels were cancelled.
