A nation-wide campaign, launched by the popular TV-show host Slavi Trifonov who called for supporting the 18-years-old Bulgarian model Petya Dasheva, sent her to the top of an online contest of the Italian channel Fashion TV.

Dasheva was not among the most successful competitors before the broadcast boost, but Trifonov's efforts turned out to be of great benefit. Currently the Bulgarian representative, co-citizen of the popular TV-host from Pleven, is ranked model N.1 with over 2,120,000 votes already. The Bulgarian had garnered no more than 146 votes before the Trifonov called on Bulgarians to vote for her.

Bulgarians from all around the world rendered to Petya their support by a single click, explained Ivan Kulekov, one of the scriptwriters in the show, who actually received Petya's request by an e-mail. He elaborated further that such campaigns served as a fine example of unifying the Bulgarians for the sake of a patriotic cause.

It was young Bulgarians, willing to show national solidarity, who did this. Last night they had literally jammed the TV channel site, scriptwriter Rossen Petrov said.

Next year Petya will graduate a Computer studies profile in Pleven. In the words of her mother, she is hardly a fashion freak who makes fuss about petty appearance details. Petya is fluent in English and German and is known for her talents as a poet rather than Internet model challenges.
