UK Pop Sensation Moloko Kickstarts Tour in Bulgaria Roisin Murphy from UK pop sensation Moloko will arrive in Bulgaria on October 10 to give the start of the band’s new tour in Europe and Astria a day later

UK pop sensation Moloko are back on the road in Europe and Australia and they chose Bulgaria to kick-start their latest tour "Statues Tour 2003".

Roisin Murphy (vocal) and Mark Brydon will arrive in Bulgaria on October 10 with a team of four musicians, 7 technical assistants and two tons of technical equipment. The concert will be staged at Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture a day later on October 11.

"Statues" is the name of the band's latest album, a combination of extreme emotions and stimulating music. Roisin Murphy is the author of the emotional texts of the ten songs in the album.

Moloko was set up in 1994 in Sheffield, England and the band is named after a drink in Anthony Burgees' "The clockwork orange ".

The curious story of Moloko begins - almost a decade ago - with a salacious enquiry. Dublin-born Roisin Murphy's early heroines were Kim Gordon and Kim Deal, so it was a little off-putting that her parents told her she had a lovely voice - just like Elaine Paige.

Mark Brydon was already a veteran of the Sheffield scene and the legendary FON studios (for which he did the architects drawings), and had produced Krush's seminal early pop/house hit ‘House Arrest' among many other projects.

They met at a party in Sheffield and, for obvious reasons, called their subsequent debut album Do You Like My Tight Sweater?.
