CINEMA AND TV ASSOCIATION MEMBERS MEET IN BULGARIA

`The International Association of Cinema and Television Schools (CILECT) will meet in Bulgaria for the first time in its 46-year history,` Prof. Stanislav Semerdjiev, member of CILECT`s Executive Council and Vice Rector for International Relations of the Krustyo Sarafov National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts (NATFIZ) told BTA. The Academy will host the meeting from October 18 to October 22. The meeting will take place under the patronage of Education and Science Minister Vladimir Atanassov. CILECT operates under UNESCO auspices and is the sole legitimate representative of 101 public and private schools of this kind in 48 countries. `Representatives of cinema and television schools in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Denmark, Italy and the US will arrive in Bulgaria for the CILECT meeting,` Svetlana Abadzhieva, NATFIZ Public Relations Manager, said The meeting will focus on preparations for the CILECT Congress which will be held in Melbourne, Australia, next year. According to Abadzhieva, one of the tangible benefits for Bulgarian art from the meeting will be CILECT`s financial assistance for implementation of the Pinocchio Project for children`s film and television.
