Iraq's former Defence Minister Sultan Hashim Ahmad al Tal surrendered Friday to U.S. forces in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul. Speaking on Arabic news network Al-Jazeera, a mediator of the former defence minister said al Tal surrendered with "all his confidence and pride." The U.S. military would not confirm the report.
