Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov awarded six former US Ambassadors to Bulgaria with jubilee medals on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of US-Bulgarian diplomatic relations. J.Perry, M.Levitsky, K.Hill, R. Miles, A. Bohlen, R. Barry were US envoys to Bulgaria during years.

In his speech Parvanov underlined the extremely good bilateral relations between Bulgaria and US. He pointed out that the culmination of these relations is the ratification of the protocols for Bulgaria's NATO entry.

Earlier in the day an historical document exhibition was opened at today at the National Library in Sofia.

A discussion with former US ambassadors to Bulgaria will open in the Parliament in Sofia today, as part of the celebrations dedicated to the 100th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The discussion will be opened by Parliament Speaker Ognyan Gerdzhikov at 02:30 Sofia time.

A day earlier the "topping-off" ceremony at the new US Embassy compound in Sofia district of Lozenets officially marked the halfway point in the construction of the new building and launched the three days of celebrations from September 17th -19th to commemorate the anniversary.

The three-day events will end with concert at the National Theatre.
