Nikolay Vassilev, Economy Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, proposed three alternatives to the zero profit tax on re-investment for investment stimulation at a meeting with the economic parliamentary commission. He also said that the tax changes package was already prepared by the Ministry of Economy.

Dr. Vesselin Bliznakov, MP from the Simeon II National Movement became Deputy Chairman of the election staff of Petur Stoyanov. Borislav Kitov and Petya Shopova also joined Stoyanov`s election staff.

Dr. Boyko Penkov, Director of the National Health Insurance Fund, resigned. He resigned at the meeting of the Managing Council of the fund.

There is no threat in Bulgaria for spread of the antrax disease, the Epidemology Control of the Health Ministry announced. There are no registered cases of Bulgarians, suffering from the pulmonary form of the disease.

The Privatization Agency announced that a 70% stake in the Plovdiv-based machinery company MTA EAD will be sold in a public tender. Bidding can be done within 40 days after the tender`s promulgation in the Official Gazette against a participation fee of BGN 200,000. A three-year investment and employment plan must be submitted. Only 10% will be paid in cash, the remaining amount is payable via compensatory vouchers and related instruments.

Visits of two World Bank missions to Bulgaria were postponed because of the war against Afghanistan. Experts were expected to arrive in relation with projects in the education and the SAPARD agricultural program.

The Agency for Governmental Claims will sell stock in EIBank, the Central Cooperative Bank, the First Investment International Bank, Credit Bank and the Chrankov Hotel.
