Hurricane Isabel Heads for US East Coast

More than 100,000 people on the US east coast were urged to leave their homes and seek refuge inland as Hurricane Isabel heads for the US shores. Experts had predicted that the storm would be a Category Five one -- the most dangerous level -- but its top wind speeds have weakened to about 169 kilometres per hour and it is now graded as a Category Two. However, experts warned that it could regain speed before making landfall. The states of North Carolina and Virginia already declared a state of emergency.
