UK policemen held Monday night a 24-year-old man over the shootings of Bertram Byfield , 41 and his 7-year-old daughter Toni-Ann in an apparent gangland feud in London on September 14. Police believe Toni-Ann, who was shot in the back, saw her father being shot and was killed as she was running away, to stop her identifying the gunman. Interpol is trying to track down the girl's mother, who is thought to be in Jamaica. Toni-Ann was a ward of court and was staying with her father for the weekend. She had just arrived in the UK from Jamaica and was due to start primary school this week. Her father had served a nine-year jail sentence on drugs charges. Bertram survived a previous attack in 2002 in which he was shot six times.
