COMMUNITY CENTERS TO BE TECHNOLOGICALLY MODERNIZED

Cisco Systems Bulgaria and the United Nations Development Program /UNDP/ officially announced the signing of an agreement for the project `Community Centers`. USAID, the Dutch government and UNDP finance the project. It is to be executed by the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture. The aim of the initiative is to make popular the community centers. The agreement between Cisco and UNDP envisages training in information and communications technologies. It also envisages a program for requalification. The requalification program costs USD 90, 900 and is provided for free from Cisco systems. 25 community centers and three Bulgarian regional centers will benefit. The training program will be online; the lectures are to be read via Internet. Cisco systems will donate equipment, worth USD 45,000 to the three regional centers. The community centers will be able to get 45% discount from Cisco for purchasing of the needed equipment.
