Bulgaria Failed to Complete 28 Privatization Deals Jan-June

Bulgaria failed to complete some 28 of its scheduled privatization deals for the first half of 2003, Bulgaria's Dnevnik daily newspaper wrote September 7.

The main reason for the miscarriage is reported to be lack of potential investors' interest toward those enterprises.

However, the state Privatization Agency closed some 98 deals over the period and agreed on a total sale price of about BGN 251 M. Actual receipts by now are BGN 223 M, the newspaper said citing an official report of the Agency.
