62 refugees from Afghanistan tried to cross the Bulgarian border near the villages Shtit and Cernodub and Ruzhintsi in the Svilengrad region for 24 hours, Dnevnik daily wrote. Border patrols in the Svilengrad –Elhovo border line catch an average of 40 illegal immigrants every evening. The refugees attempt the border. Almost all of them are returned to Turkey. `The increasing numbers of Afghan refugees is connected with the US attacks in Afghanistan, `the Border Police stated.
