The Bulgarian Finance Minister Milen Velchev leaves for Washington on October 8 to meet officials from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Velchev is to have meetings that were postponed because of the terrorist assaults in the United States. The Finance Minister is expected to brief the IMF officials with the Cabinet`s economic program and to negotiate on new agreement with the fund. After his visit to the United States, Velchev will fly to London where he will present Bulgaria in the framework of the forum `New Europe.`
