The Appellative Court in Bulgaria's second city Plovdiv decided today that the arrestees detained during the international Moonlight operation that traced the traffic of cocaine from Bolivia should stay behind bars.

The decision of the Appellative Court confirmed the decision of Plovdiv's District Court made on August 12.

Three Bulgarians and a Macedonian national were arrested last week in Bulgaria in an operation which the indigenous special services reportedly carried out with their US and British counterparts.

Five tons of cocaine intercepted in Bolivia -- three of them allegedly designed to be processed in Bulgaria -- were incinerated near the Bolivian town Santa Cruz as a culmination of the major international operation "Moonlight." This was announced on Sunday by the Bolivian newspaper Los Tiempos.

The narcotic substance disguised as mashed potatoes in packages had to be shipped from a Chilean port to Bulgarian coastal city Varna and reach the indigenous company Puldin OOD, Bolivian media reported.
