One of Bulgaria's most popular beer brewers Kamenitza AD launched a new PET packaging Q-pack. It is a single layer barrier bottle, which offers an outstanding protection against oxygen and light, while keeping the carbonation inside.
Q-pack actually means Quality pack, Jean-Pierre Duthoy, Chairman of Kamenitza Board of Directors said while presenting the new PET on August 19.
Interbrew, which own the Kamenitza brand portfolio, conducted a series of independent sensory tests with a German packaging institute. These tests confirmed that the beer in Q-pack is of similar quality as beer in glass bottles and superior to beer in regular PET, Duthoy also explained.
The Q-pack technology has already been successfully launched by Interbrew in Romania and Russia.
Kamenitza AD is part of Interbrew, one of the oldest beer companies in the world. The brewer which is among the biggest investors in Bulgaria boasts in its portfolio Kamenitza, Astika, Pleven, Slavena, Stella Artois. Belgium-headquartered company Interbrew operates in 20 countries owning more than 200 brands. Since 1991 Interbrew has seen more than 33 acquisitions in different parts of the world.
