Lawyers Urge Closure of Bulgaria's Telecom Deal

If Bulgaria's Privatization Agency would again rule out the sale of the country's Telecom to Viva Ventures, that move would be illegal, Bulgarian Doctor in law Ivan Todorov said Friday.

The instructions of the Supreme Administrative Court allowed back Viva Ventures into Bulgaria's telecom deal on July 29. However, the Privatization Agency disrespected for the court decision and greenlighted the contract with the second bidder Koc Holding/ Turk Telecom in the same day the Supreme Administrative Court announced it would hear second time the case of dumped Viva Ventures.

Judgements of the Supreme Administrative Court cannot be challenged, Bulgarian lawyer Aleksandar Dzherov explained.
