Greek Juice Producer Allegedly Ruined by Bulgaria Investments

Greek workers stage rallies in Thessalonica alleging their company - a soft drink producer - was ruined by investments in Bulgaria.

Some 150 employees will set blocks around the Thessalonica office of Florina AD for two hours on Wednesday and Thursday, Greek newspaper Naftemporiki reported.

The siege is the last of a string of protests which started end-June. The workers demand that the management pay delayed remunerations for the last ten months and take on action to avert a financial disaster.

According to protestors, the company has accumulated outstanding liabilities worth EUR 17.6 M, most of it owed to Alpha Bank and Trade Bank. They insisted the management has consistently acted against Florina's interests.

The enraged employees allege that the leak of capitals started five years ago when the company expanded into Bulgaria investing almost four billion drachmas.
