Bulgarian President Georgy Parvanov expressed his approval for the US-backed peace plan known as the roadmap that aims to solve the Islaeli-Palestinian conflict by the end of 2005.

Parvanov's statement came amid a working lunch with ambassadors of the Arab countries to Bulgaria Tuesday. In his speech the president stressed on history-determined and cultural relations between Bulgaria and the Arab nations.

Parvanov and the ambassadors also discussed issues concerning the post-war reconstruction of Iraq and solving of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. Immediate efforts for building an atmosphere of trust between the two countries are needed, the president underlined.

He also expressed readiness to support further development of relations between Bulgaria and all Arab countries.
