Governmental Reshuffle in Bulgaria Planned till August

Bulgaria's Cabinet will be most probably reshuffled before the summer recess of the Parliament due in August. This is what the country's Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg said Tuesday hours before his party is expected to choose a new floor leader. The election of fresh leadership of the incumbent parliamentary group comes as the prime minister scourged the current chiefs on Sunday.

Speaking at a news conference after a meeting of the Political Council of ruling Simeon II National Movement, the prime minister denied any possibility for the current floor leader Plamen Panayotov to keep his post. Saxe-Coburg pointed out he had already chosen a candidate to propose as an replacement. The governmental head insisted that the reshuffle of the parliamentary group's leadership would be made with an eye for "continuity" which, analysts say, suggests some of Panayotov's deputies might preserve front-line positions.

Saxe-Coburg insisted he constantly kept in touch with activists of his party and some of their favorites for running the parliamentary group matched his own. "This really makes me happy," the prime minister said.

Speaking of the pledged governmental reshuffle, he pointed out that its timing and significance still depend of a lot of factors. The prime minister answered a question about his coalition partners from the ethnic Turks' party who push for a structural governmental reform rather than mere personal replacements commenting that such development "might be possible." However, he stressed that the junior partner is not the only factor in the oncoming reshuffle and warned against rash conclusions.

At the news conference, party leaders said that the ruling party Simeon II National Movement currently has 19,000 members.
