280 BULGARIAN SAILORS ARRESTED

Ten ships, owned by the American-Spanish consortium `Renaissance Cruise`, were arrested on September 27. On board the ships was a crew of 280 Bulgarian sailors and maintenance personnel. The ships had been detained all over the world: in French Polynesia, Italy, Malta, Pyraeus, Dover. According to relatives of the sailors the latter had been arrested on charges of money-laundering. Bankruptcy proceedings were said to be instituted against the firm immediately after the attacks on the USA.
