The first business delegation from German state Saarland is expected in Bulgaria June 28 trough July 3 to hunt for deals and investment opportunities. Saarland's Economy Minister Hanspeter Georgi will lead the group of entrepreneurs.

Apart from meetings with ministers in Sofia, the agenda features get-togethers with reps of the Bulgarian Industrial Association, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce as well as a tour of the German investor Festo's site and a visit to tourism hub Varna.

The middle-size entrepreneurs from Saarland will gauge their chances to enter Bulgaria's distribution and deliveries market. Most of them operate in industries such as car spare parts, installation and machine making, metalworking, energy supply and environmental protection. IT companies based in Saarland will also dispatch reps to Bulgaria. Some of the firms represented in the delegation will use the trip to scout Central and Eastern European markets for the first time.

Those enterprises see the great potential of Bulgaria as part of uniting Europe, Germany's Embassy in Sofia said heralding the visit.
