Friday was the deadline for purchase of document packages by prospective bidders in the privatization of Bulgaria's largest printing complex.

Bulgaria's Privatization Agency invited a tender for 51 percent of the capital of Rodina Printing and Publishing Complex end-May.

The prospective buyers should be printing and publishing enterprises that have secured over BGN 10 M of revenues by the end of 2002. Consortia formed by such companies or tie-ins in which publishers hold at least 51 percent of the shares are also eligible.

The candidates should submit their offers until July 16.

Currently the state holds 94.28 percent of Rodina's capital. The rest got traded in the country's mass privatization campaign.

The printing complex processes the circulation of sixty Bulgarian newspapers and magazines. It also prints advertising matters, calendars, forms, etc. 80 percent of the revenues come from the newspaper contracts.

Rodina's main competitor is the Newspaper Group Bulgaria OOD.
