Changes in Bulgaria's election laws should be voted after the municipal elections because if voted now they might be declared for an ad hoc policy of the government, Stefan Sofianski, Sofia's Mayor and leader of the Union of the Free Democrats (UFD), said June 22.
According to Sofianski the changes in the election laws, offered by Bulgaria's ruling Simeon II National Movement (SIINM), are reasonable but SIINM could only lose if the changes are voted too early.
Sofianski also said that the163 leaders running for municipal councilors on the ticket of UFD might as well run for mayors. He explained that so far he could not tell whether UFD will back other political parties' candidates.
However UFD campaign for Bulgaria's municipal elections will be completely majoritary representational Sofianski added.
