Bulgaria's Transport Minister Plamen Petrov met in capital Sofia with his Italian counterpart Pietro Lunardi Monday and discussed possibilities for accelerating the construction of Corridor VIII.
Lunardi's current visit to Bulgaria is part of his European tour as Italy is to take the chair of the European Union in July.
The two ministers also discussed the management of Bulgaria's Varna an Burgas seaports, the opportunities to renovate the country's transport infrastructure and to increase navigation safety.
Bulgaria will ask EU-financial support for the construction of Corridor VIII, officials of the country's Transport Ministry said after the meeting.
