The post mortem examination proved that Dessislav Panchev from the addiction treatment community in mountainous area Belmeken died from brain haemorrhage caused by a skull fracture.
He was murdered, the forensic doctor Dr. Angel Fingarov told novinite.com. According to him, the young man could not cause himself such injuries even in his rage triggered by the abstinence.
The founder of the Belmeken community Vladimir Kachakliev dismissed the murder theory. According to him, the 20-year old went to the bathroom and fell there. Other inmates found him frothed at his mouth. They called Kachakliev at home at 8.52 on Sunday. He then got Panchev's mother on the phone and she informed him her son suffered from epilepsy. After the boys had failed to stop a car to have Panchev transported to the nearby town of Velingrad, an ambulance came to pick him.
They might have slapped him as abstinence made him mad but are not able to cause the death, Kachakliev told novinite.com.
Panchev arrived in the community a week ago in poor condition. The young man suffered from abstinence and attempted an escape. Inmates brought him back to the community after a chase in the forest.
Pachev did not mention he was an epileptic when he came to the community, a source of novinite.com said. He was twice in a comma in his childhood - a fact he has also kept to himself, Kachakliev said.
The community in Belmeken was set up to isolate drug addicts in a secluded mountainous area and cure them through labor. There are no doctors there as the concept is to give opportunity to the inmates to overcome their addictions by themselves surrounded only by people alike.
