Bulgaria's controversial businessman Konstantin Dimitrov nicknamed "Samokovetsa" survived a bomb attack Saturday.

Some 15 kg of explosives blew up on a road about 20 km of Bulgaria's capital Sofia when Dimitrov's Mercedes jeep passed over the detonator-cable. However the armored vehicle resisted the blast and Dimitrov did not get hurt.

One the bodyguards who traveled in another car behind Dimitrov's got minor injuries. Investigators think that the bomb was not meant to kill but just intimidate Dimitrov.

Konstantin Dimitrov is known as one of Bulgaria's biggest excisable goods speculators, also believed to be strongly involved with drug smuggling.
