220 Bulgarian Firms Apply for Iraq's Post-War Reconstruction

Two hundred and twenty Bulgarian firms tabled their applications for taking part in the post-war reconstruction of Iraq, Bulgaria's Deputy Economy Minister Milen Keremidchiev said Saturday.

Leaders of US companies that already signed contracts for going to Iraq will choose which firms will assist their work.

Recently Bulgarian Parliament also approved the dispatching of a 500-strong battalion to Iraq. The Bulgarian soldiers will take on a peacekeeping mission. The battalion will be given armament and combat equipment to participate in the post-war reconstruction.
