Interpol-wanted South Korean national Kim Jung-hoon, remains in a Bulgarian detention center after the Sofia Court of Appeals confirmed the verdict of the City Court.

US media reports insist that Kim is son of International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Kim Un-yong involved in corruption scandal.

Kim was detained at Sofia Airport on May 18 at the request of the US office of Interpol.

Interpol hunted for South Korean Kim Jung-hoon for crimes committed in the US allegedly to win the father's support for Salt Lake City's successful bid for the 2002 Winter Olympics.

The US National Public Radio reported he was involved in an immigration fraud and lying to the FBI.

With a sham job and funded by the Salt Lake City Olympic Bid he was able get a work visa and remain in the US.

According to media reports, if Bulgaria extradites Kim, he faces 165 years imprisonment in the US.
