PARLIAMENTARY COOPERATION DISCUSSED IN SKOPJE

The two day official visit of the Bulgarian delegation to Skopje ended on September 25. Foreign Policy, Defense and Security Parliamentary Committee Chairman Stanimir Ilchev led the delegation. The visit of the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation to Skopje ended with a meeting with Macedonian Deputy Defense Minister Boris Zmejkovski. The delegation also met members of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Macedonian parliament and discussed ways to promote parliamentary cooperation. The Bulgarian guests met Macedonian Parliament Speaker Stoyan Andov, as well. During the meetings the two sides voiced their support for finding a political solution to the crisis in Macedonia. The politicians of the two countries condemned terrorism. The hosts made it clear they accept the Bulgarian stand that Macedonia`s idea to set up a regional anti-terrorist pact should become part of the common European and global anti-terrorism effort. During the meetings the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation stressing the priority importance of contacts in the economy and the infrastructure.
