A total of 120 publishing houses, distributors and advertising agencies take place in the 21st spring edition of the Book Fair that opened on Wednesday at Hall 3 of the National Palace of Culture.

This is the first time that the Association of the Bulgarian Publishers launches the initiative "Bulgaria Reading", with a gift for each kid who visits the fair.

Visitors of the fair will have the chance to join a number of premieres, the collection of poems by Georgi Gospodinov being among the most attractive.

Some 5700 titles were out on the Bulgarian book market during the last year, publishers complaining of plunging sales due to the economic crisis. No fewer than 2000 are the publishing houses registered in Bulgaria so far, an impressively high number for its small size.
