`The budget of the Sofia municipality for 2001 will be closed with a deficit,` mayor Stefan Sofianski said. He asked the finance minister to cancel the free of charge use of public transport by some government officers as part of their bonus package.

A joint memorandum of the chambers of commerce of Bulgaria and Yugoslavia at the Plovdiv Fair demands free trade agreement with Yugoslavia. Last year`s mutual trade stands at USD 400 M, most of which consists in Bulgarian fuel exports to Yugoslavia, said ambassador Cedomir Radoikovic.

`Visa regime introduction between Bulgaria and Russia, starting October 1, is not a wise move,` said Vladimir Chertishchev, member of the Duma. He heads the Russian business delegation to the Plovdiv Fair. Bulgaria`s exports to Russia were reduced 8 times in the last 10 years, he reminded.
