Japan Joins 2nd Int'n'l Sumo Tournament in Bulgaria

Japan's national sumo team confirmed its participation in the Second International Tournament, to take place in the Black Sea city of Varna on August 30.

The tournament is organized under the patronage of Varna mayor Kiril Yordanov and will be attended by H.E. Yasuyoshi Ichihashi, Japan's Ambassador to Bulgaria.

A total of fifteen countries have declared willingness to join this year's edition of the tournament so far. The participants will be grouped in four categories.

The Bulgarian team is expected to qualify for the world championship in Hong Kong on November 29-30.
