Members of the European Round Table of Industrialists met members of the Bulgarian Cabinet on September 25 in Sofia. Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Nikolay Vassilev led the Bulgarian delegation. Social Minister Lidia Shuleva, Deputy Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Plamen Petrov, the Executive Director of the Privatization Agency Apostol Apostolov and the Chairman of the Agency for Foreign Investments Georgi Tabakov participated in the the Bulgarian delegation. Baron Daniel Janssen led the delegation of the European Round Table of Industrialists. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Solvay S.A. and Chairman of the European Round Table for Economic Cooperation with Bulgaria. `When we come back to Brussels, we want to talk about the positive changes in Bulgaria. We hope that the government will consider our recommendations for improvement of the state administration, for fight against corruption and improvement of the image of Bulgaria abroad, `Baron Janssen said at the meeting. Deputy Prime Minister Vassilev assured the foreign industrialists that the Bulgarian government is ready to continue the economic reform for the further stabilization of Bulgaria. `Foreign investors are always welcome to Bulgaria,` Vassilev said. `Foreign investments will reach USD 2 billion by 2003,`he also said. The members of the Round Table of Industrialists also met the Bulgarian Foreign Minister Passy. The conditions for foreign investments and the future perspectives were discussed at a working lunch with Prime Minister Saxe-Coburg and the members of the two delegations. The European Round Table of Industrialists is an independent business organization headquartered in Brussels. This was the third annual meeting of the ERT with the Bulgarian government. The visit was the highest-level business one after the elections in June.
